I am still having trouble with sounds when I have popups change....when I just went to computer.net I got the noise with the first ad that appeared....it seems to be a global thing on my computer...hope someone might have solutions...cheers...jim

If you go into the Sounds and Audio Devices applet in Control Panel, and find a sound that is identical to the one that you're describing, all you need to do is select "None" for the sound that's associated with that event.

(It will be something like "minimize," "maximize," "start program," blah, blah, blah)

I can't think of any other possible cause than that you've enabled a sound for that event at some time in your computer's past,...possibly without knowing the consequences.
