I have been playing games and listening to music on my headphones recently because my speakers are in another house. However recently when I try to listen to music or play games the sound only comes out of one side (the left side). I checked all my settings and everything is set to "center". The headphones work fine with my iPod Shuffle and TV. I updated my Realtek AC97 drivers and still nothing. The headphones are more a less new and I don't think they are the problem. I am seriously stumped with this one. Any help or pointers?
Whenever this has happened to me I have found that with the PC switched off (most important) inserting and removing the headphone or speaker jack plug several times whilst slightly twisting/wiggling the jack plug at the same time is enough to clean any slight corrosion in the socket.
