Ok i am posting this the second time. Well i have bought this brand new Compaq pc. Everything seems to be working properly the only problem i encounter is the following: while i listen to the music at Rhapsody, i click on a link, open a program etc. a little distortion sound something like TSSS would occur. Sometimes in the middle of the song it would make the same distortion. I dont know i have terminated some programs through the Task manager it didnt help. So i dont know what to do to return the Desktop or is there any other solution. Any advise would be greatly appreciated Thanks again

Try re-installing the sound driver. Did the music ever play fine? If so, do a system restore, that may help.
It's been a pleasure to assist you. Peter

I used to use Rhapsody, and (depending on what else I was doing with the computer at the time) sometimes the buffering couldn't keep up with the play rate. In the middle of the song, the sound would start sputtering and distorting as the song tried to keep up with the player. Once the song had completely loaded, I could play it a second time without interruption. Check to see that the progress bar stays ahead of the play position indicator.
