I have the same problem, no sound with my Soundblaster Live Platinum only thing that seems to work is the headphones connection on the "Live drive". Creative Labs states on their website that there are no drivers for the Soundblaster Live Platinum available yet, they also state that they will only be supplying the basic drivers for the card and YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY the software that will enable the full functionality of the card. I suppose they mean the Liveware 4 by that. They have lost me as an customer, I will not buy a card from Creative Labs again. They force you to buy software from them when they should be supplying it FOR FREE, this was a top of the range product when I bought it and they should support it with drivers. $200 for a sound card is not cheap and they should support their products properly LIKE ANY OTHER COMPANY.... the money grabbing B****S

I also have the soundblaster live platinum card. Have been trying to obtain the latest drivers from Creative and finally got lucky and downloaded the so-called appropriate upgrade. Didn't work. Now when I try to reboot, windows xp locks up. And I'm sure its because of the sb card. Can somebody help us here? This is rediculous.

I've got a live 5.1 card and xp it worked ok for everything except winamp, a day later nothing worked. Device manager gave the smae response that the card was working ok and the updates from the creative site didn't work. Any solutions?

Same here - moved my SB Live into a Pentium 4 system running XP, and no sound. XP thinks the bloody thing is just fine.

Creative should be shot and left to rot for not fixing this IMMEDIATELY. I'm not going to unload XP to fix this - I'll buy a REAL sound card from someone else and try to sell this piece of SH*T.

XP and Sblasters...hehe, no chance in my experience, though, you could get lucky....
Tried 3 cards now sb live, sb 128 (worse),sb64 (useless).
Such heartache just doesnt seem right....
All the best with your attempts.
BTW, sometimes I can get SB live to work (kind of), but mic input goes beserk..., distortion you would not believe, and remember, NO problems ever with Win 98...:(

Same problem here. I have no sound and when I tried to download the XP driver, XP said there was an error. I am getting real angry now.
