sound stopped working

Sound stopped working last week. I checked input jack to speakers, mute not checked, volume is up. What else can I check?

try removing the sound drivers, reboot, let windows reinstall properly

Is the input jack actually hooked up to the right input. I've done that before. Hook up the input jack to the microphone jack and wonder "why the sound isn't working."
In addition, if your sound "muted."
Check those items first.

Just a couple of things: Test another program or see if it is a problem with the speakers yb trying another set.
