Is sound recorder in XP limited to 60 seconds recording only, I do not seem to be able to change it.. Any ideas???

If you drag the progress bar while recording it will lengthen the time, but it will also interfere with recording.

mute your microphone
record nothing for 60 seconds.
save it as a blank.wav or whatever
then click on insert file, and choose your blank file. there, you've added 60 seconds.
If you need a 10 minute file, just insert it 9 times...etc

Or you could get a really good recorder. there are a couple of them that have slightly limited trial versions that work perfectly fine for the home user. Try cooledit http://www.syntrillium.com/download/

Essentially the recorder was designed to record short email messages and was never intended to be used for music etc.
