Sound message when on net

I build a PC for someone and they downloaded a bug so I had to wipe the hard-drive and rebuild. Now when she is online she gets the following error message: Windows can not play sound %SystemRoot%\Media\Windows XP Battery Critical.wav Your sound card may be in use
She is using onboard sound and Video. All drivers for them are installed and working. I have never seend this error before. Any ideas?

Did you Go to Start/Run and type in the box dxdiag and then hit <Enter>. That will bring up a DirectX, sound and video hardware and software diagnostics. Run all the tests in all the tabs!

I had her run the test in DirectX and heres what she gets:
DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x8878000a (The request failed because DirectSound resources, such as the priority level, were already in use by another caller.)
