Ok I know that this sounds wierd but it is really bugging me. I am a freelance recording artist. I use my machine to record with. I recently purchased and installed a Chaintech Apogee Motherboard and am now having problems with noise in all audio outputs. It sounds kinda like a fly next to a microphone anytime my HDD spins, reads threads, or is just under normal operation. What would cause this and how can I fix it? The board is a Chaintech Apogee Skt A w/ onboard 6ch digital sound. Any help is appreciated.

Some onboard sound chips are not good. I found some onboard sound chips produce a *hissing* or fly-like noise, possibly because of this:
1. the built-in sound is not properly configure, or
2. there exists some previous installed drivers for a different sound device. If so remove the drivers and the *device* (could be seen by windows, but no physically exist) and reboot. It might tell you that it found new hardware...if so, please disable in all configurations.
This could solve your problem, but it is not guaranteed to work....it might be that you BIOS needs to be updated in order to fix some of the sound problems..
Alternatively:
Get a sound card, (Sound blaster or something better) and with less than max. $50 you can get a decent sound card with better performance.)
GOOD LUCK
