I think the NEC VR500/CD computer uses the ADI AD1981B audio driver as mentioned in its specs here (used Google Translator to translate the page).

Thanks Erpmano... But everytime i tried to install the driver this msg comes out saying "Driver not found! Reboot your system and run this set up again". Did as i told in rebooting and installing, still the msgs pops up.
Hi Trivikrama. After reading this forum thread (it's in chinese language and another user who also owns an NEC PC-VR500CD computer),
download the ADI AD188X audio drivers from this Mydrivers.com page. Select one of the FTP sites on the page and download the driver package.You may want to install and run Unknown Device Identifier and locate the "unknown" audio device, expand its Details and its PnpID number and list it here. I'll keep trying to find the correct audio driver and will list it in a future post.
PS - I'm surprised the NEC (121ware.com) site does not provide the audio driver downloads for most of their NEC Japanese made computers. I've looked for certain audio driver downloads for the PC-VR500CD on the 121ware.com site but found none.
I know for sure the next brand new computer I'm getting won't be an NEC brand.
Hi Erpmano.. I really appreciate the help and i would like to appologize for the late reply because i was a bit busy with work. About the sound driver i was looking for, i think i already got the right one. I used Vinyl AC97 codec combo driver... I looked at my device manager and all seems fine but unfortunately i still have no sound on my computer.
I checked everything including audio devices on control panel but still no sound..
I really don't have any clue on what to do next because all seems right but still i don't hear anything...
