sound device is not detecting

I'm having a system with P IV HT processor of LG make. The OS is Windows XP professional. I connected it with a head phone with my for chatting & hearing the music. but my system is not detecting the Audio device, There is no audio device installed on the system is the message coming when I try to hear the message typed in the speach section of the Sounds, speech, and audio device in control panel.

Sigmatel audio device is installed in my system.

can any body tell a solution for this problem.

you need to install proper audio driver. go to the Sigmatel website and download teh driver related to your audio device model.
