Ive just installed a new DVD writer (Sony DQ-U10A) after stupidly breaking my old philips drive. After installing this device, none of my sound plays properly. I mean, whenever i play anything with sound, it comes out distorted. Its as if its all compressed sound with lots of artifacts, also the range of the sound seems to be distorted (you cant hear mid range audio such as voices). As well as this, when i switch my computer off and leave my speakers on, i get a loud static sound comming out.
