my brother call and wanted to know the sound card in his compaq presaio S1010CL he has windows xp pro and for some reason it did not install the sound,my question is anyone may know what sound card it may have in it.and yes I went to compaq site and there no infor there.thanks for any help.

Why should M$ supply drivers???

i reformatted my computer because it cought a bug or somethin and went all crazy... then my sound drivers didnt go thru. i dont know how to find what kind of sound card i have or what drivers to get...

Belarc Advisor Sandra One of these scanner programs should pick up on what card or chip is the bases of the sound system. Have you looked in the device manager to see if it loaded and is just not turned on?
