Hello all. First time post.
My computer is a home built. It's fairly dated... about 2 years. My problem is this: I transferred everything in my comp from an old case to a newer one. After that, problems started to arise everywhere.
The main problem is my sound card. There is a conflict between my network card and sound card. Both are trying to use IRQ 9. Neither will accept a new IRQ from the BIOS. I've changed ports for both, they still insist on using IRQ 9. Windows won't detect my sound card as my defaul audio device. Winamp will allow me to manually assign it, so my MP3's and such will work. Games and anything else are mute.

Can you go into the audio properties in control panel, choose your soundcard and set it for default?
Many devices share IRQs, so having your nic card and soundcard on the same interrupt isn't a problem per say.

No, I can't. Windows won't let me set it as the default audio device. Winamp will let me set it, but Sound and Audio devices won't. If I could find a way to set that, I think my problem might be solved.
