sound card driver

I upgraded from 98SE to XP a few weeks ago. And downloaded the driver for my sound card (SiS 7018).
When i try to install the driver, it tells me it cannot find the software for this driver and it has not installed properly.
Does anyone know if this soundcard is compatible wit XP, and if so how i can install the sound properly, please?
My media player and such like will not work as it tells me there is no sound software installed. Thanks!
Summary: I desperately need the sound card driver that works for an Intel845 m-brd. I downloaded smth from the Intel site but then on running the exe, it ses "Driver not found, reboot and reinstall" (yeah yeah...
