Hi guys,
Is it anyone who knows how to find the right driver for a sound card for a computer I bought 4 years ago from a company called tiny.com? The company went bust (pretty much immediately after I bought my computer) and I just switched from XP to Vista but I can't get any sound into the bloody machine. Help would be greatly appreciated!
Tony

HWINFO32 can identify the hardware:
Though if you look on the motherboard it will quite likely have a number like 'MS 7508', they usually used MSi based Motherboards with there own BIOS Chips......

Thanks for the previous reply. I tried to install HWINFO32 but it fails all the time. By using DxDiag I found the BIOS used:
Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Can I find a sound driver based on the BIOS?
Cheers

Did you open the case and look for a number on the motherboard, usually between the agp and pci slot ???

In Device manager find sound card or unknown device if it did not get that far. go to properties of device and under the detail tab look for VEN_###7DEV_###
Then go here http://www.pcidatabase.com/ and you can ID sound card and then search for drivers"Don't hit at all if you can help it; don't hit a man if you can possibly avoid it; but if you do hit him, put him to sleep."
