After a reformat of the hard drive turning the second hard drive off in the bios, Windows makes the C drive the back up hard drive and makes D the drive windows installs on, then Windows has a problem finding the sound card, after a second start up, it finds it, as I'm shutting down the computer to turn on the second hard drive in the bios and re installing windows again, now Bios nor Windows cannot find the Sound blaster, there has been times where i had to re format and had no problems with installing the drivers for the sound blaster live card... I even try to find the drivers online and when I try to install, program says shutting down, does not detect a sound blaster live hardware installed, please make sure it's properly installed bla bla bla... I have a Dell dimension 8200, yes i already been to dell and downloaded that driver on there.. Seems very odd bios and windows does not even recognizes the card period, not even in the device manager, no unknown devices with the yellow flag....

Any help would appreciated...Thanks

Did you move the sound card around on the motherboard?

Check to make sure it is fully seated.

What is the exact model of your Dell?

"there has been times where i had to re format and had no problems"

I'll never understand why some people constantly reformat. Instead of disabling the 2ndary controller in the BIOS, physically unplug the drive. Reinstall Windows, drivers, updates, etc. Reconnect the 2nd drive afterwards.

because i didn't want to go through the trouble of opening the case and disconnecting the hard drive... the model number as i said up there is a dimension 8200... I moved the sound blaster card around quite a few times, made sure it was properly seated... Computer doesn't see anything where the sound blaster is period, When i turn on the computer, with the speakers plugged in, They still make the thump noise when the computer starts
