Ok. I have 2 Sound Blaster Live cards. Both in different systems. When I run San Andreas, the sound effects r ok at first, then they start to fade out, then they dissappear in the span of like 10 seconds. Both machines are exibiting the same problem. One is a 1.4 ghz athlon, the other is the 2.8Ghz p4. Any ideas?

Koby, gradual fadeout makes me think of memory filling up and not being released for other uses. Dunno just what memory or where, but think I'd examine my sound card properties if I were you???

As ED says it does sound like a memory issue.

You might try reinstalling the drivers to see if that helps but I think that you are bogged down with just too much memory usage.

Try cleaning up the systems so as to regain some memory.

I'm not an amature. I have more than enough free mem when I play this game. It's just that I've noticed that both of these sound cards in different computers have the same problem, but when I used this sound card to play the game on my old P3, it didn't have that problem. But on my P3 I used windows 98 to play games so it makes me think it's a driver issue or an XP issue.

Word... I just switched up to my Onboard sound and I don't have a problem using it when I play San Andreas. And no there is no conflict between the onboard and the card because other games seem fine. And to back that up, the other machine has no On board sound so it must be the card. I have the latest drivers btw. Any ideas?
