Hi All,
Sound and systems on my windows xp afre all grayed out and I cannot play any sound even if I am not using any additional device (i.e speaker). I tried coonfiguring it but I still cannot hear any sound.
What should I do? Your help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there first check your device manager by right clicking on my computer then properties and selecting the tab saying hardwear then click on device manager once in device manager click on Audio Vidio and game controlers expand that and check that the audio is working properley and there is no caution triangles by them at wich point if there is right click the item properties and there will be an explimation why there is a problem if you need to update you drivers becuase of this issue then comeout of the properties right click again and select update driver which will take you though a wizard that will help you correct this issue the second thing is look in volume control and in there check that you do not have the volume on 0 or mute caursing the problem of the sound issue and last of all check that the hardwear is correctley installed
if the volume control is locked out i will give you a regedit file that will enable it again let us know how you get on or if you require further guidance best of luck

Hi,
First tried all tried all the except from updating the hardware and when updated it, sound and systems work properly.
Thanks!
