Comment:

I had to reboot my computer after a recent virus and it's working ok except there's no sound ('no sound card installed' is the message)and I can't reinstall my Belkin wireless card, so no internet.
In device manager I have two items with a yellow exclamation mark - 'multimedia controller' and 'pci modem'. I suspect it's something to do with the drivers; perhaps they all need to be reinstalled since the reboot. I've tried to reinstall SiS (7012 and 7013) drivers for these, but without luck. One wouldn't intsall at all and the other was unsuitable. Someone on this site recommended I used Everest to identify my hardware; I can't make much sense of the information it genereated but here's a ream of it below.

Please please help me - I really need my internet connection!

If you do have a Computer built by Packard bell,as indicated in your 'header' you may get more help if you could provide the details about this computer such as whether it is a laptop or desktop and what exact model is shown on its chassis. That will help to research and find out about its SPECS.
Since you have a wireless Card (I guess NIC)have you been still using a DialUp connection using a PCI Modem also?

You said you tried to install the SiS drivers for the Sound card, did you use the Motherboard CD?
Details please..
