I’m running dual boot (XP & 98SE) on a Sony Vaio PCV-RX572. Sony has a utility that controls the processor fan with XP but it won’t work in 98. The fan runs full speed all the time in 98. I have searched to no avail to find out what motherboard they used, so I can try to find the utility for 98.
Anyone know of a program to identify motherboards? Or help with a utility to control fans? I emailed Sony a couple of weeks ago but no reply.

Belarc adviser. I dont have the link just punch in Belarc on any search engine.And download and save setup on desktop dissconnect and run setup and it will place an Icon on desktop Click on Icon and it will scan your pc and display all the info mobo cpu memory it is correct but it got the revision number wrong on my board on this box. On my sony it was correct but my Asus board in my sony was not at all like the one on asus sight .So even though they have the same model number the ones they sell to sony are some cut back OEM crap not at all like one bought retail.
