Websites that have always loaded are not working for me. It's not ALL websites, just about one third of them. And this just started... These sites worked weeks ago but now won't. And some stopped working while others were still working, but now the whole bunch has stopped completely. The confusing thing is, I'm on LAN at college, and the other people on my system DO get these websites... So what could the problem be?
Thanks in advance!

There could be MANY reasons why this is happening.
The best thing to do is to back track and remember doing anything to the system.
It could be spyware/adware/worm/virus, or it could be that something or someone disabled certain scripts from loading. (like activex scripts which can disable flash based webpages)
We need more information

Well, I have cleaned my system of all worms and viruses... I am thinking it might have something to do with my settings, although I haven't changed these. I did seem to have a LOT of spyware to get rid of on my computer, so if any of that did change my settings, it could still be changed even though that stuff is gone.
Basically, when I go to these sites, what shows up is the regular old:
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
----------------------
Please try the following:
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer
----Well, I've tried all of this, and it's STILL not working.
Please help me.

Go To TOOLS > Internet Options > Connections (tab) > Lan Settings (button) Make sure your not running on a proxy which most spyware forces onto your system.
And auto detect settings is clicked.

If i were you i would check the hosts file.
c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
open it using notepad.
make sure that is only says:127.0.0.1 localhost
and that you do not remove that line.

I went into Notepad... to hosts, and here is what it says:
127.0.0.1 localhost
12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com
Should I delete all of that extra stuff?
