Ok so... my internet had been working fine for quite some time, and it still does for 99% of my sites, but for some reason, a few sites stopped working. The most common one to have stopped is www.tibia.com. I have scanned my computer for viruses and found nothing. I went to my command prompt and did a "ping www.tibia.com" and got the following:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=64
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=<1ms TTL=64Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 <0%loss>,
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 10ms, Average = 2msThanks in advance

What do you mean by "Stopped working?" What browser are you using? What happened immediately preceding the problem?
Life's more painless for the brainless.

Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.tibia.com.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I'm using firefox, but it doesnt work on IE either

Here is a quote from Wikipedia.
"In computing, in the context of a TCP/IP network such as the Internet, localhost is a reserved name meaning this computer. It is used where one would otherwise specify the name or address of a computer in the network. For example, directing a web browser to http://localhost will display the home page of the web site (if any) being served from the computer running the browser. A common basic test of the TCP/IP protocol stack on a machine is to enter this command at a shell prompt:
ping localhost
localhost always translates to the loopback IP address 127.0.0.1"
In other words your ping never got out of your machine. I would suggest you check your firewall to see if that is where the blockage is.

Either your firewall, router or HOSTS file.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Dont use a router, only firewall i have is Zonealarm. What you mean Hosts file? Everyone else can log on thesite

HOSTS is a text file on your windows drive.
See if it contains tibia.com

it does
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 www.tibia.com
127.0.0.1 www.tibia.org.pl
127.0.0.1 tibia.org.pl
127.0.0.1 www.tibia.pl
127.0.0.1 www.tibia.net
127.0.0.1 server.tibia.com

Delete the tibia lines or disable them by prepending a # like this:
#127.0.0.1 www.tibia.com
DO NOT tamper with this line:
127.0.0.1 localhost

well i deleted those and they started working again, but just a quick question, how did they get there?

Beats me. I was going to ask you.
Did you download a list of 'common nuisance' sites?
