Hello peoples, I need your help so here goes,some games wont play on my pc, its not to clustered I keep it fairly clean and have a i media 5054 packard bell with intel celeron 2ghz processor, 256 mb dynamically shared with graphics and 60 gb hard disk. I also have a pet llamba but I diverse...command and conquer is an example of a game that wont play , it loads but is extremely slow..unplayable, I heard you need a 3d graphics card to play it ..how much do these cost, can I attach it myself or do I need a computer science degree? how can i tell if I already have one?..thanks for your time

Man that was fast, Thanks, er im a bit of a beginner but learning so Im afraid you'll have to be a bit patient, Im not sure if I have one..I know that sounds stupid but I got everything pre installed..Is there a way I can check what i've got?

click start\ settings\control panel\
system icon
hardware tab
device manager
display adapter

should give the details of the on board graphics.
your onboard should be enough to run CnC ,
however;
command your conquers will run on any old voodoo 3dfx cards pref a 3000 or 5500 so you can play quake3 see ebay spoilt for choice,
i would check 1st to see if your motherboard has a AGP slot so you can upgrade to a newish cheapo 1 by disabling the onboard graphics then go for a geforce 440, x 4 agp.
If you are that "new" get some one who can do it for you so not to get ripped off,
CnC is a bit old nowadays.
