Like the title says, I can't seem to get a couple of exe files to do anything. I first noticed it when I tried to the free F.E.A.R. multiplayer game. I downloaded the large file and everything went through fine but when I double clicked to start the install process nothing happened. That's what it seemed that is. The installer never loaded and whenever I tried to click on any other executable it would take 10-15 minutes to load it. It even took forever for task manager to load. Once it had I could see that the program had been launched but was only pulling something like 387k or so and never fluxuated. I thought nothing of it really, thinking it might just be something weird with me and the game. That is until today when I downloaded yet another free game with the same results and I'm not quite sure why this happens. Other exe files seem to work fine as I just installed an updated AVG antivirus prog today. I've downloaded both files thru torrent and regular downloading and same problem. So yeah, any help anyone can contribute would be terrific. i_effin_rule, SWAG, since other .exe proggies work as they should, I'm inclined to blame the proggies themselves. Two seems rather odd, but ... If it were ALL .exe proggies, I'd be inclined to think of a worm or a virus, but... HTH. Ed in Texas.
