Good day all,
Currently i work as a desktop support technician and of course we encounter various issues. The one that gives me the most dread are software problems. Random things like excel not opening up spreadsheets from emails or word documents not opening or are missing plugins etc..The point of this question is not to list the issues but to ask is there a website or a knowledge base that i can go to that outlines how to deal with software issues. Just basic troubleshooting steps such as clear the cache or whatever.
Thanks everyone for the reply in advance.

I don't think you will find one. The closest thing you will find is Microsoft's Knowledge Base but even that doesn't and can't possibly cover everything that might happen.
Knowledge and experience is the best tools for solving software problems. Knowledge of what is supposed to happen and experience of what to do when it doesn't.

You have made the first step by coming to this forum. It is top of my list of valuable sites to get answers on any computer question. Here the ones I use. You would be wise to go to these sites on a regular basis and just read the q and a's other people post. That way over time you will acquire the knowhow you most need for yourself.
