I use a Zoom 56 k dualmode modem to access internet with no problem. Up to yesterday, I made merchant transactions with the same modem; however, now the modem won't do them.
I had removed the modem in an unrelated troubleshoot. Could that have altered the config of the modem for the merchant connection? If so, can XP restore that config? Better still, do you know how to restore the right port/ serial config?Error messages:UNABLE TO SET COM PORT TO BANKING STANDARD

Maybe there is a problem with your serial port. Uninstall the modem from device manager.
Try changing the serial ports with another device. (put the modem in com2 and the other device in com3). If both devices work you 're OK. If the other device is not working then there is something going on with com3.
