snap in failed to initialize

hello when i try to run gpedit.msc i get a "snap in failed to initialize; name: group policy" any ideas what this means and how to fix it? thanks

I can't help on this one coz I too have the same problem.. I am replying to people notice it's happening to many people.. not just you..
