hiii everyone,
I would really appreciated if any of you can tell me how to solve this problem...
I just formated the hard drive and installed new windows from cd. here is what is happening, everytime I start my computer I get the doss screen and with some info plus this message (SMART Failure Predicted on Primary Master ST380020A. WARNING: Immediately back-up your data, and replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be imminent)

if i press F1 window will start normally
if i press Del I will get into BOIS

I'm doing scandisk and everything is showing ok. and there is NO bad sectors in hard drive. I have only one hard drive and it's master

does this message mean that I will need to get new hard drive or is the problem with some BOIS Setting?

thank you in advance for any help you can provide....

Backup the HD ASAP get a new hd and transfer your files. Smart drive lives up to it's name. If it says it's failing it probably is.

Go to link and do a check on your machine. Part of the check is SMART check on your HD. If this site tells you that you have SMART problems, then as posted above, back up your data and get another drive ASAP.

I have never seen a smart warning turn out to be a false alarm. Now shoo. Go back up your drive. Samsung by the way has an 80gig drive for $59.00 at microcenter.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...
