hello i am trying to make a network with 7 computers, 2 run on XP and the 2with 95 and the rest with 98. I am trying to figure out how can I make all of them see each other to share files??Please give me the advise I need to know how to do this, because this is for a Church. Thank you

XP has a program that you copy to a disk so you will have to load on the other computers to get network neighborhood to work.
Follow the help files on XP. I think they tell you most of what you need.
Did they all of a sudden just come together in one place. Was there a network in place before xp?

in 95 default network protocal is netbeui
and that is not installed by default in xp,
so you will need to have a common protocal for networking all these machines .i would suggest nwlink ipx/spx compatible on the xps
and ipx/spx on the 98 and 95 machines
and uninstall netbeui from 95 and 98 that have it installeduse tcpip on all machines for the internet
you need nic cards on all the machines and a router or hub with enough places for all the machines to plug in
use rj45 connectors and category 5 cable between the router and the nics
make sure all the nics have the correct drivers and are compatible with the machines they are installed on
all machines must have the same workgroup name and different computer names
file and print sharing must be enabled on all machines
all firewalls should be uninstalled on all machines
i like to enable the guest account on the xp machines
to see if you can reach the other machine once you setup the network
go to start run and type in \\name of the computer you wish to reach
and press okrun the network setup wizard on the xp machines

Hi
Just to elaborate on Quirkys good advice, the network wizard on the XP cd should be ran on ALL machines REGARDLESS of the operating system they have. The network wizard can be found on the first screen when the cd autoplays.
Good luck
