small downloading problem

Hi<

I have a really small downloading problem. Whenever i save a picture it always saves as a bmp. instead of a jpg. how can i change this?

Ah, yes. I had the same problem recently - drove me freakin crazy. This is caused by your internet cache getting bloated. It's supposed to clear itself out, but apprently it gets stuck on stupid sometimes. You just need to clear out the cache.

Just go to Tools>Internet Options. On the general tab select the button "Delete Files" When the dialogue comes up select the checkbox to delete all offline content. Close IE and restart. All should be well. I don't believe you need to restat the computer. But, you might.

That is not xp's fault. It's due to your ISP being set up that way ON THEIR END. Sounds like you're an AOL user. I have the same problem. Post back who you use and lets see if there is a workaround.

But when you click on save as... when the dialogue box opens, don't you have the choice to select the file type-extension? By default on IE it is jpeg but yours might have been change. Just select jpeg again.
