OK...I just want to know if anyone had any problems with a specific service or program slowing down your boot-up or hindering your memory. My boot-up went from about 30 seconds to 3 minutes or more.

goto run, then type msconfig and see what programs are running during startup. Uncheck most of them, they slow things down.

Thanks, I havent tried MSCONFIG... I have ran services.msc, and unchecked some things there. But I'll try MSCONFIG. If anyone has any other input please let me know. All help is appreciated greatly.

Disabling some services will actually make booting take longer. If you disable the event veiwer (for example) it will add roughly ten seconds to you boot process.

Yeah, the only ones I disabled were one having to do with Networking multiple computers. I left everything else pretty much the way it was.

I would try to set them back to how they were just to see if the problem goes away. Xp is bad about hanging because of network problems.

Try BOOT VIS from Microsoft. It's a FREE tool they offer on their website that will analyze and present to you activity of a BOOT.
Then, you can OPTIMIZE for next boot.

Boot vis did nota for me. Do you have a anti-virus program? They are bad about slowing boot time.
