OK here is my problem I reformetted due to having a problem staying in a chatroom I would get booted but it would look like I was still in there. I reformatted because nothing else worked. So I reformatted figuring it might help. Now I have problems contecting to web pages. I get page can not be found or the page to work offline, however I am connected to the internet. When I do a ping test to my ISP i will sometimes loose returning pings. This problem has gotten better for a little bit then gets bad again. It also takes forever to Download web pages and sometimes i can not even open my MSN mail. I have gotten update Drivers for the modem and unistalled it in everyway possible the computer is like 6 months old I have a smartlink modem. I am getting very frustrated here HELP.

You reformatted you may need to reset your modem.
Unplug power cord for about one minute and then plug back in.
You can also go to the command prompt
start run type cmd
at the prompt type exactly with the spaces and hit enter after each oneinpconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /all
that should get you back up

If what robbie says doesnt work, and nothing will work if it is something you can do without spending money, you should try exit all unnecessary programs from systray. I have similar problem sometimes when I am running program like aol instant messenger and surfing at the same time. When I exit the program (messenger), I can connect to pages much better. But I have not tried pinging to see result when I have this problems.
I have XP one of my computer, and it run much better with 256M memory than it did on 128M. So, maybe this help if nothing else does. But try other things first. I am still a little bit of beginner, in college.
