Some games run in extremely slow motion on my computer. I used AIDA32 and the dxdiag command to ascertain the current settings. The important settings are listed below: AGP is enabled. AGP aperture is 64 MB. Current AGP speed is 4x. Direct3D Acceleration is enabled. DirectDraw Acceleration is enabled. AGP Texture Acceleration is enabled. Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (memory=128 MB) RAM: 256 MB SDRAM OS: Windows XP Professional with SP2 CPU: Pentium 4; 1.5 Giga Hertz

There is a gaming forum as well as a hardware forum, here @Computing.Net
You might consider updating your system specs in "My.Computing.Net"
You've made a lot of posts here - do you ever respond back once those are answered?
A bit disappointing for someone who claims that: "gaining knowledge about computers is a passion with me."
If you get people asking the wrong questions, you don't have to worry about the answers

I think you should invest in some more ram for the computer. XP uses almost all of your ram and that does not leave musch for gaming. I would suggest at least 512MB.
