Hi
we have 7 W2k machines,3Winxp Pro and 1 win2000 server (Domain Controller) all connected with 10/100 Switch + NIC
all machines are joined to the server.

the problem is when i try to login to the server from any w2k machine it's very fast. but when i login from any winxp machine it's very slow it takes about 5 mins when it's saying (Applying Computer Settings) and when you look at the HDD light on the case it's lighting as if it was doing something heavy .

all machines are getting an ip address from the server + DNS configuration is pointing to the server

is winxp not Compatible with win2k server ??
how can i solve this problem? and what is your suggestion??

Thanx 4 UR Help

Hi Someone,
i had the same problems whilst installing xp machines on 2000 server the problem was the DNS if the DNS if Config correctly they should load and unload within seconds.
one problem was that i had to rebuild the xp machines after i had the wrong DNS in which caused a few problems. hope this helps
