Hi everyone, I have problem with slow login Advance server 2000, it seems taking forever to login from all the computers in the network, the advance Server is running Active Directory, and user's profile is store in locally. The network is normal. It doesn't matter how fast the computer is, they all get the same problem (slow). The server is 30.6GHz Dual Xeon. Is there any solution for this problem? Thanks in advance. Peter.

Could be lots of things... but one thing that comes to mind is automatic ip assignment. If your machines are set for atuo ip assignment then log in has to do alot of extra work. If YOU manually set each ip address then you can save login some time. You have to make sure though that you give the machines the right addresses though!
On the other hand it could just be server 2000 itself...in which case I would be out of my depth.
