How do I know if it is my motherboard that is going bad? I thought it was the harddrive and took it to a shop. They just said the fan was dirty and needed cleaned. :( charged me crazy and my computer is getting worse. It takes a long time to load and I freeze alot and get the blue screen. my internet connection is an average of 16mpgs. Could this be the HD or .. I am not sure any more.
Please help :(

It could be anything really. Did the blue screen just happened all of a sudden? If you could provide the code of the blue screen. Then there maybe a chance to solve the problem. You almost never want to suspect that its the motherboard :). For me, that's the last option to suspect. But for the hell of it, if you think its your MB, try to reset to the default settings in the bios.

To get into bios, turn on your computer and press the del key (or which ever key you see on the screen that indicates the bios) before you see the windows logo.

then look for an option that says, load default settings, it should be in the last option.

Let me know how it turns out
