My Windows Explorer seem to have slowed down. Its slow browsing and frequently does not open various folders and programs easily. For instance to open my Mozilla IE takes a few tries.
Rather than troubleshoot this problem wouldn't a reinstall of Windows Explorer be simpler? I have SP3 installed.
How?

You would reinstall IE if there was a problem with IE's functionality. That does not appear to be the case.

You posted the same issue with firefox in 2008.

Are you spyware/malware/virus free?
Have you run disk cleanup?
Have you run defrag?

Concerning your question about reinstalling IE,

if your car was running poorly would you just go ahead and replace the spark plugs when it could be the gas, carb, timing or wires?

No spy ware ,etc.
Just competed Disk Cleanup , all options.
My defragger works all the time. Frags are less than1 per file.

I am an auto mechanic so I know what to do with a car.
However, these computers and the digits arte greek to me. Thats why I ask for help. Just as you, apparently, would on your car. We all have knowledge of something,.

The index.dat file can get very large and slow down things.

Download and run both the cleaner module and the registry module for Ccleaner Slim. Get it at the link below.

I use the cleaner module daily.

I guess maybe change the title to Slow Computer. I was premature when I said that CCleaner solved the problem. Only in one place and only for a little while. I have run two anti-virus programs. Nothing. No spyware. Scanned the registry and cleaned it up. Still slow as the dickens. An example is when I move cards in Solitare the movement is sometimes jerky. When Roboform fills a form it is slow.

I had grand kids here last week and they used the computer. Can't imagine anything they might have done except to surf the web. Maybe they got something there. However I don't know how to find it.
