Comment:

For the last few weeks my mobile internet
speed has dropped dramatically,so much so
the highest speed i've seen has been in bytes
per second instead of the 3MB/sec capability.
i predominatley use google chrome as my
default browser but also use the latest IE
depending coz chrome wont load certain flash
things (online games, videos and such) The
laptop itself is running quickly enough as far
as i can see, i run reg cure, defrag and disk
cleanup regularly. Also occasionally i get the
win32 error message , i dont know if the two
things are related or if this is a seperate
problem.... please any advice or help i can get
would be most appreciated as i'm at my wits
end with this

Are you using the internet from home, or at least the same location always?

Yes always from home, if it helps any the program tells me the
signal is running at HSDPA (fastest) but the downloading times
and page loading times say different

Try re-initiating the router and the modem.

Is this a silly question Othehill... is there a router on mobile internet? I use an Broadband Mobile and I have no router but I will say that the speed of my connection varies with the position I have my laptop in. I now use a 3 metre USB extension so that I can move the dongle around without moving my work position.

No not a Onthehill silly question, Routers are available for HSDPA/3G:

http://www.solwise.co.uk/3g-routers...

In the UK I see speeds around 1 to 2Mbps 3Mobile quote:

"Most people using MBB on our HSDPA network can expect a speed ranging from 0.6Mbps to 1.6Mbps, which allows you to download a three to four minute music track in 30 seconds or less. In some areas you can get as much as 3.6 Mbps. The distance from a mobile mast, trees and buildings and the number of users in the area can all influence the speed you experience."

I use this HSDPA/3G Speed Tester:

http://mobile.broadbandgenie.co.uk/...

Date 18/08/09 08:19:16
Download speed 676.35 Kbps (0.66 Mbps)
Upload speed 55.31 Kbps (0.05 Mbps)
Server Port 8095 (tcp)

Regards RegCure, ditch it and use http://www.ccleaner.com instead to cleanup files and registry.....
