Your laptop is old. To speed things up, exit programs you're not using and/or add some extra RAM that's compatible if the laptop supports it. Is it slow only with web surfing or with applications as well? WinSimple Software

According to Crucial.com, your notebook has 32MB of non-removable memory & one slot that can accept up to 128MB, for a total of 160MB. http://www.crucial.com/store/listpa... 160MB is NOT enough RAM to run XP decently...in fact, it will be unbearably slow.
