Why does my windowsXP boot so slow? it boots slower than my previous installation of windowME which i didn't alter in any way to make faster. XP takes 2-3 times longer than ME to load. is there something i have to toggle or something? please help!

I looked for a BOOT.INI file on 2 different XP machines and cant find it on either one of them. One of them boots and runs real slow, the other one boots adn runs fast.
The faster one came with XP instaled on it, and the other was an upgrade from Windows98SE. But I cant find that BOOT.INI file on either one. Is it a hidden file or something? I did a search for it, and never found it.

The boot.ini file is a hidden system file, unhide it, and you can edit it. Just make sure u dont change the next lines unless you know what your doing; othewise your computer wont be able to find the os.
