when i leave my computer on overnight, it seems to go into sleep mode but i can't get it to come back on. i move the mouse and hit buttons on keyboard but the screen stays blank. i have to restart the computer each time. in display settings, i set power scheme settings to never on all but it still does this. any ideas what I am missing?
thanks,

BIOS Settings? How do you know the computer is in slepp mode, is the power-on lite blinking or??
Rule #1: Good Computers don't go down.
Rule #2: There is no such thing as a good computer.

Hi,
I went to Microsft's knowledge base and searched under the key word, System does not recover from sleep mode
This link brings you to a solution that deals with Power Management.

Here is the link to the search I did for you if you want to see the other things that came up.

You need to check the bios settings as suggested to be certain power management is enabled and instant off for power switch is set to 4 second delay. Then go into Control panel, Power Options and be certain that home/office/desk is selected and appropriate times for monitor, hard drive, and system...also be certain front button on pc is set for sleep or standby also in all cases...that way you can just touch that to wake it up.

i don't know if it is in sleep mode or not..i don't hit the sleep button on the keyboard. no lights are blinking, everything looks normal except for a black screen.
thanks for all replies.
