I reformatted my system a couple of weeks ago and since then have noticed a problem with audio skipping while I multitask--something that never happened to me previously. It doesn't look like the problem is application-specific: it happens with the lighter Foobar as well as the more bloated iTunes. Whenever I am typing in another application with music playing in the background, the music skips.

Anyone have any idea what I could do to stop this from happening? Thanks.

Could be a driver problem...

Is your device manager show any errors???
