no, and it's annoying. I bought the game, and have yet to get to actually play it(my older computer didn't like it too much, graphics card sucked).

I get to the point where i choose an island, and it crashed. Compatibility is useless in this issue!

Alas
on the plus side, i'm not the only one

I have the same problem. I can not get sim theme park to work on windows xp. I choose a park, and then it just quits. If anyone figures out a way to get it working on xp, please e-mail me at hfernandes@sympatico.ca. I hope there is a way to play it.

I figured out a way but it STINKS! We have to restart our comp, then put the cd in then right click it and go to explore.. then run the game off the cd..instead of the one on the hard drive.. if we do it this way it doesnt crash BUT you cant save or anything it totally sucks! IF anyone comes up with something please post it! I contacted EA and they say its just MY comp because they CLAIM it does work in XP with Compatability mode but as we all well know it DOESNT!

I also have that problem. Sometimes if you restart it will run fine and not quit, but you're forced to use it in low quality software rendering mode! If you get Partition Magic (or a freeware program that resizes partitions), you can make drive C a couple GB smaller. Then, make your way to Disk Management (Start > Control Panel > Category View (if not already) > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management), and select an "unallocated" area of memory and right-click and select New Partition and go through the motions of making a Primary Partition (I'd use about 1 GB). You then should be able to install Windows 98 on the new drive! So far I only have the drive made, I need to get the Windows 98 disk somewhere. Your computer will, once 98 is installed, show a list before Windows loads that includes Windows 98. It will give you 30 seconds before choosing the default OS. For more information, see Help and Support.

I just bought the game for my girlfriend
and I can't get it to run. When I run the exe
the green splash window comes up with
the kids face like it's getting ready to load,
then a white screen comes up with a
spinning hourglass....and that's it. It
hangs on that white screen forever and
the keyboard lockes up, can't ctrl-alt-del it.
I've looked through all the FAQs and
troubleshooting guids and the same
thing always happens. Tried the safeboot.
bat thing...nothing.

If anyone knows the answer I would
greatly appreciate it if you could e-mail
me. jbk142@psu.edu This is just
driving me nuts. I can get games like
Ghost Recon to run fine then I buy a three
year old piddly dink game and I can't do
jack with it....
