I'm not sure if this has happened to any of you but it's pissing me off: I'm running WinXP and I just downloaded "Office 2000" and when I click "Setup" to setup "Office 2000" and my computer completely turns off as soon as i right or left click on "setup.exe". When XP starts back up it tells me that there was a serious error and, C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini082702-02.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\ALEXBI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER2.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml the above files will be logged. How do I prevent this from happening when i click on "setup.exe"? Should I delete the files logged? would that be safe? thanks a lot!!!!!

Try this, Go into control panel, open SYSTEM, click on advanced, Under startup and recovery click on settings, under system failure uncheck the box that says automatically restart.
See if that does anything at all.

And another thing, talk about being safe. Go to a retailer and buy you a copy of office, instead of downloading a bootleg copy.

Doc is right,
Most likly your "downloaded" copy (pirated) is bad, yup you spent all that time for a bad or imncomplete program.
