I have XP Home and my daughter has XP Pro. When I turn off the PC it shuts down and switches off automatically. When my daughter shuts down, the screen saying "It is now safe to turn off your computer" stays on and she has to use the power button to turn it off. Is there any settings I can alter on hers to force it to turn off automatically or is it because we have different XP
Also my system is NTFS and hers is FAT 32
TIA

Maybe this works:

Your Computer May Not Shut Down After You Upgrade to Windows XP
("It is now safe to turn off your computer")
