shutting down problem

Hi, Every time I try to shutdown or to restart my computer, It hangs Screen freez "window shutting down" Nothing happens.I have press restart or power. If some one can help me.

I had the same problem when I first upgraded to XP Pro. Tried every fix Microsoft had posted plus all the others I could find on the internet...nothing worked. Finally, I booted up the XP installation disk and had it perform the OS repair function. That fixed my problem.
