i recommend not to use the '-t 00' switch for immediate shutdown ... give it 20 or 30 seconds so you have the chance to abort the shutdown if necessary (start > run ... type 'shutdown -a' ... OK)

I use Poweroff to shutdown, after recording tv shows with DVB TV Webscheduler. It works from the command line as well...

litz, thought for you to consider, there's a proggie called 'Slawdog' designed to shut down Windows (any version). If you simply download it and schedule it to run (in scheduled tasks) at the chosen time, you can schedule shutdown when you like. Get it free @: http://www.slawdog.com/products/sma... HTH.
