Shut Down Problem - Desperate

Hi, I need help in shutting down the computer. I have read previous post and tried updating the Roxio, enabling the APM but it just don't shut down and it restarts instead. Please help.

You could try a BIOS update for your brand of mother board.

lets see zone alarm ,roxio,norton.
you got these three installed try uninstalling them one at a time till you can get normal shutdown.

Roxio is definitely your problem. Remove your easy cd creator software first and then try it.If this works you know the cause.
Next -go to the roxio site and download the update for your version of ECDC AND the driver update for XP.

I have tried all of the above but no use. I did not remove the easy cd but update it with the latest version instead. However, the problem is still there.

Reinstall XP, system files may be corrupted...frequently!

Impossible. I will lose all the settings etc. Too many things to reinstall.
