This probably sounds strange and I no you can select to view Icons, but that is not what I'm referring to. I've ran windows XP for years, and whenever I had selected view details inside windows explorer it would still show an small image of your *.ico files inside a folder. But for some strange reason it doesn't display them now with the detailed view and I know all the times before when I had XP home it did show them in detailed view. Another problem I have is in thumbnail view it will not show a preview of my videos and before when I was running XP home it showed a preview image of my videos. Is something missing from my computer or is it because of XP pro. I can't figure out whats missing..

obsolete, do you maybe need to change your settings to 'show hidden files'?

obsolete, "Another problem I have is in thumbnail view it will not show a preview of my videos and before when I was running XP home it showed a preview image of my videos"

To correct that problem do the following:

Click Start>Run and copy & paste or type in:

REGSVR32 SHMEDIA.DLL

Click OK,

Note that the spacing is important.

Post back with the result and see if this also corrects the other "details" icon problem.

Thank you, that does fix the video problem, but not for the Icons.

obsolete, Are you saying that when you choose Detail view it shows all of the details but not any of the icons (folders, .jpg, .gif, notepad icons, etc,) ?

No it shows all of those .jpg, .gif, notepad icons, etc. just not for my ico files it doesn't show anything for them and they aren't associate to any program but I never had them associated to anything before either, and it showed a small preview of whatever icon they were in the detailed view. I may of had an icon program installed before though, that searched for icons, I'll try installing it again and see if that fixes my problem.
