Is there any way to create a shortcut to Mute or change Line-In / Mic Recording Volume control.

This tool is highly useful if you use both mic and TV Capture card that you need to switch between those volume controls in order to talk with VOIP and sometimes capture favourite TV shows.

Thanks in advance

rendez, do you have the volume control speaker in your quicklaunch (bottom right, near clock)? That is a shortcut from which you can mute.
If you don't have it, you can specify whether or not to show the icon in your startop menu in control panel.

If you don't use it often, XP by default will hide icons for things you don't often use, and you will need to click on the < in the blue circle on the left of the taskbar to find the speaker icon.

You RIGHT click on it, choose Show Volume Control.

If you don't see a speaker icon, go to Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices and click on the box beside Place Volume icon in the taskbar to make a checkmark appear.

If the Mic selection does not appear, in the Volume Control windows, choose Options top left, Properties, click on the box beside Mic to make a checkmark appear.

Your Mic is supposed to be muted all the time in that location (the main Windows sound mixer). Any program that needs to use the Mic will automatically un-mute it, and when you exit the program it will mute it again.

Thank you, but I think you missed the point. I do not want to click on tray icon, click on properties and such, which is not efficient if you switching so often.

I repeat, I need to have a shortcut with only double click will mute/unmute the specific line in / mic volume.

Thanks

It is only 2 steps to do what we suggested.
I know of no way you can do what you want to do.

I don't know how to make a shortcut to mute but you can make a shortcut that will take you to the recording volume sliders.

Create a shortcut on you desktop or quicklaunch bar (or whereever you want it) and in the target window, type in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndvol32.exe /r

then when you click on it, it will take you to the recording volume sliders.
